VARNEY THE VAMPYRE; OR, THE FEAST OF BLOOD was first published in serialized form by Edward Lloyd in 1845-47. Each issue cost one penny. Although the author was uncredited, it is usually attributed to either James Malcolm Rymer, Thomas Preskett Prest, or both. This edition is based on the collected edition of the penny dreadful, published in book form by Edward Lloyd in 1847.

At just under 657,000 words in length, this edition is not for the faint hearted!
